How one local wellness company cultivates nature’s wisdom
Jane Hawley Stevens’ journey with herbal wellness started at home with a single plant, mullein. Her newborn’s persistent ear aches and ailments were not responding to traditional doctor’s treatments, but lo and behold, the horticulturalist graduate was able to put him on the mend with the use of a plant. That was the seed for her to start her unique wellness company, Four Elements Organic Herbals.
With a background in horticulture, Jane and her family have operated the company from their 130-acre certified organic farm in North Freedom, Wisconsin. Starting with that single mullein product, the company now carries and curates a line of over 70 herbal wellness products, all of which are certified organic. The company has been growing organic herbs and marketing herbal products for the past 32 years. They’re committed to good stewardship of their land, quality of life for their employees, and improved health for their customers. A pioneer in organic farming and the natural product industry, Jane has taken her love and reverence for nature to inspire others through her effective products and teaching at organic herb, garden and professional events. Her desire is to connect people consciously to that which sustains them.
Jane has taken her years of horticultural experience and wisdom and shared them with her community as well. Four Elements offers classes taught by Jane and her team that offers their community the chance to better familiarize themselves with the seemingly endless possibilities of herbal medicine. Their class offerings consist of syrup making, gardening, lessons about immune system improving herbs, medicinal herb cultivation, product creation, and more!
