Owners elect the board who direct the River Market Community Co-op

The River Market Community Co-op’s (RMCC) Board of Directors consists of seven (7) to nine (9) volunteer directors elected by the Ownership who are legally responsible for the overall direction and performance of the Co-op. The directors work as a team to set policy, hire and evaluate the General Manager, maintain the fiduciary responsibility of the Co-op, and represent the membership as it creates the vision that guides the Co-op into the future. Each director serves a three-year term, with three seats up for election every fall.

I believe River Market is a place we rely on in the community to provide great food and health and wellness options.  It is a business we know will give back and make the Stillwater area stronger. I grew up in the hospitality industry and saw first hand in my family’s restaurant what a great business in the community can do to bring people together.  I look forward to helping River Market continue to do these things for our community.

I serve on the Board of Directors so I can participate in the overall governance and sustainability of our River Market Community co-op. When my family moved to Stillwater nearly 15 years
ago, one of the first things we did was join River Market. As we searched for places to raise our children, we
knew we wanted to settle in a town that had a food co-op because healthy, organic, and sustainable  agricultural are priorities. Food also creates community and being a part of the Board will allow me to help others view their co-op as a vital source of community.

I am excited to join River Market’s Board of Directors. With 15 years on Valley Natural Foods’ board, ownership in three MN cooperatives, and volunteer work with NCBA/CLUSA, I bring valuable experience in governance, strategic planning, and community engagement. I believe in Principle 6 (P6) and fostering cooperation among cooperatives. I am committed to enhancing our community’s growth, food security, and sustainability.
