Topics include: why bees are beneficial, basic bee biology and behavior, beekeeping equipment, selecting a site and starting a bee colony, managing honeybees throughout the year, extracting honey, preparing your hives for winter, and managing surviving colonies the following year. You will receive handouts of all topics covered including a list of resources, and will be able to see beekeeping equipment, and catalogs. Presented by JoAnne Sabin, beekeeper and a member of the Minnesota Hobby Beekeepers Association (MHBA).
The class fee is $45 for any co-op owner, $50 for non-owners.
